ABOUT THE JOURNAL

Kaltungo Journal of Health, Science, and Technology (KJHST) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes articles biannual in the fields of health, science, and technology, with an emphasis on originality and quality. The journal is published both printed and online formats, and all articles published are fully open-access and freely available online immediately after publication.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. To provide a platform for research, scholars, and practitioners to share innovative research findings, ideas, and experiences in health, science, and technology.
  2. To facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing among academicians, professionals, and policymakers in the field of health, science, and technology.
  3. To provide evidence-based practice, policy development, and decision-making in health, science, and technology.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES:

 

1. The manuscript title should not be more than twenty-five (25) words.
2. All authors’ names be listed as: AHMAD, A., DAVID, R. B., MUSA, H. and DERIC, Y.
3. Affiliation of authors should be provided. Where there are multiple authors from different institutions, use superscript numbers1 to differentiate authors’ affiliations.
4. The corresponding author’s email address and contact telephone number should be provided.
5. ABSTRACT
  Abstract should be between 200-250 words. Structure the abstract as: introduction, objectives, procedure, major findings, and recommendations in a single paragraph.
6. Keywords: Provide at least five (5) keywords.
7. MAIN TEXT
  The main text words should not be more than eight thousand (8000) words, above this will attract extra charges.
8. Structure of the main article should contain: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.
9. Placed all tables and figures within the main text where they should appear in the published form.

Each table should have a title depicting the content.

Figures should have relevant titles clearly presented.

10. ETHICS APPROVAL
  Include the ethical approval number obtained from the concern authority (where applicable)

Disclose the conflict of interest (if any).

Disclose of funding source(s) (optional).

11. TYPE SETTING
  Use:

1.      Times New Roman font style

2.      12 font size

3.      1.5-line spacing

1.       Either indented or block paragraphing

12. IN-TEXT CITATION AND REFERENCING
  Use the current edition of: American Psychological Association (APA) referencing style.

Note: For the in-text citation, use a sequential number in square parenthesis, i.e. [1,2], [3], [4-6] etc.

All in-text citations must be itemized serially in the list of references at the end of the work.

13. SYSTEMATIC REVIEW AND META-ANALYSIS
  The systematic review may or may not include a meta-analysis or statistical summary of the individual study results. The text body of systematic reviews should be structured in Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion and should not exceed 5000 words (without reference list and tables/figures). Abstract should not exceed of 250 words. In the introduction section, the research question needs to be stated; the rationale and the aim of the review should be explained, the method section will describe how and where the studies have been selected for inclusion in the review. A methodological appraisal of the included articles should be performed. The discussion should address the national and international relevance of the findings.
14. COMMENTARIES
  Present the author’s viewpoint on the interpretation, analysis, or methods used in a particular study: abstract is not required. Maximum word count is 1500 with 5-8 references.
15. THINGS TO NOTE
  Only manuscript that have not been published or is currently under review elsewhere should be submitted.
  The language of KJHST is United Kingdom English.
  When forwarding the manuscript, the sum of N5,000 processing fee is to be paid into the journal account: Account name: Kaltungo Journal of Health, Science, and Technology, Account number: 0228021457, Bank: Union Bank. The  evidence of payment should be send alongside the manuscript.
18. PUBLICATION FEE OF N 20,000 SHOULD BE PAID ONLY IF MANUSCRIPT APPETENCE LETTER IS ISSUED.
19. FOR YOUR MANUSCRIPT TO BE ACCEPTED AND PUBLISHED, YOU MUST STRICTLY ADHERE TO THIS GUIDELINES.
